Lana Parrilla was born July 15, 1977 in Brooklyn, New York. She is of Puerto Rican and Italian descent and is now a resident of Los Angeles. She came to national attention as a regular during the 2000/2001 season of the ABC sitcom Spin City, alongside Heather Locklear and Charlie Sheen. Fall, 2002 brought a co-starring role in the NBC ensemble series Boomtown with Mykelti Williamson, Donnie Wahlberg and Jason Gedrick. Lana joined the cast of Spin City after having appeared in several independent films, including Frozen Stars and Spiders . Her most recent film is Very Mean Men , starring Matthew Modine, Martin Landau, and Ben Gazarra. 2002 brought guest appearances on JAG and The Shield. Though Boomtown was cancelled in 2003 and Lana has been working steadily since, appearing in multiple episodes of NYPD Blue and Six Feet Under. She has also joined the cast for the 2004-2005 season of 24 and in 2006 co-starred in an ensemble cast in NBC's summer drama series Windfall. In spring 2007, Lana filmed a pilot for CBS called Swingtown, for consideration during the 2007-2008 TV season. On television, Lana has been seen on Grown-ups and the Showtime original TV series Rude Awakenings . Lana also guest-starred on Steven Spielberg's Semper Fi . Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Lana has trained with Milton Katselas at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, is a sports, dancing and music enthusiast, and she can be regularly spotted at Tower and Virgin Records.
